Irini is a home cook and freelance food writer living in Dubai. After becoming a qualified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, Irini created this site as a source of inspiration to others wanting to make simple and nutritious meals. Irini believes that cooking should be a mindful experience – to cook with intention, gratitude and respect for your body.

Irini is a South African-Cypriot and her recipes are mostly influenced by Mediterranean food and ingredients.

A Mediterranean diet is based on the principle of eating mostly local vegetables, fruits, legumes and grains, with some fresh fish, poultry or meat occasionally. It is not a diet heavy on meat, but rather focuses on what is grown locally in the region. The food is very family-friendly as children usually eat the same food as their parents and can be tailored to vegetarians and vegans.

Irini studied Business Management (Bachelor's Degree), Food and Travel Writing and is a certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. After working in the chemical industry, she swapped the corporate life for one that is more aligned to her own beliefs and a more balanced lifestyle. Irini now works as a freelance writer, specialising in healthy family foods and recipes. As a wife and mother, she understands the dynamics of being time-limited and trying to cook nourishing meals for her family.
