Irini is a freelance writer and nutrition health coach specialising in the Mediterranean diet and gut health for families and children.

Irini was born and raised in South Africa and has been living in the Middle East, for the last 15 years. Her recipes are influenced by her Cypriot heritage as well as her travels around the Mediterranean and Middle East. Irini develops recipes for the modern health-conscious cook using her health background and experience in the Mediterranean diet to update traditional recipes.

The Mediterranean diet is a sustainable approach to healthy eating and well-being that’s suitable for the whole family. The main principles of the Mediterranean diet is to eat plenty of local fruit, vegetables, legumes, nuts, seeds, whole grains, and seafood, while enjoying meat occasionally. It is not a diet heavy on meat, or processed foods but rather focuses on what is grown locally in the region. The recipes are very family-friendly as children are encouraged to eat the same food as their parents and is also suitable for vegetarians and vegans. BACKGROUND

Irini has over 20 years experience in the food and health care industries. From working with food manufacturers, recipe development, food writing for online websites and magazines, to food photography, Irini has carved a niche as a food writer of Mediterranean cuisine and healthy lifestyle. She has a Bachelor's degree in Business Management, is a certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. Irini currently lives in the Dubai with her husband and two children.
